Format:
Épée round robin with direct eliminations
What is a round robin?
In this event, the round robin format means that all fencers are placed into one large pool where everyone fences everyone. After the pool is complete, results are used to seed a standard direct elimination (DE) tableau.
Benefits of this format:
Lots of guaranteed fencing — everyone fences the entire pool.
More guaranteed fencing time; no one is eliminated early.
Great for improving technique, tactics, and endurance.
Exposure to a variety of fencing styles and opponents.
Friendly competition and a supportive atmosphere — fun for both new and experienced fencers.
Great preparation for larger competitions!
